The bus and coach sector looks into the future


Leading bus and coach industry innovators, companies and representatives of cities gathered at the IRU round tables organised within the framework of the BUS2BUS Future Forum, held in Berlin this week. The discussions focused on how to better prepare for the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead for the two main market segments - group tourism by coach and intercity scheduled lines.

UK’s zero emission bus deployment plans gain momentum


Transport for London has recently launched a tender for the bulk procurement of fuel cell buses. Working in partnership with other UK cities (Aberdeen, Birmingham, Dundee), TfL is inviting potential suppliers of fuel cell buses to join a framework for the supply of single and double decker vehicles to cities across the UK and potentially further afield.

New coach service to start soon in Italy


Italy's national train company through its bus subsidiary Busitalia-Sita Nord, is launching this summer new long distance connections, under the brand Busitalia Fast, on the domestic and European market.

IRU workshop in India to focus on a global vision for buses, coaches and taxis


The preliminary findings of two major studies on the main trends shaping the future of mobility in general, and of buses, coaches and taxis in particular, will be presented to key Indian public-private stakeholders in a workshop the IRU-led All-India High Level Group is organising in New Delhi on 9 May 2017.
