U.S and Canadian coach industry continues to be strong, study shows

According to a recent study commissioned by the American Bus Association Foundation, the U.S and Canadian coach industry continues to be one of the most reliable, cost effective and environmentally efficient means of transportation.

Around 36,520 coaches provided 604 million passenger trips in 2014.  In the same year, the industry created a total of 128,300 jobs out of which 71,900 were full-time and 56,400 part-time.

The study also shows that the sector continues to serve a broad range of customers, from students to seniors, and moves people with great fuel efficiency. The industry provides charter, tour, and sightseeing services, which are of vital importance to the travel and leisure industries, and intercity and commuter services, which are essential components of the passenger transportation systems in both the United States and Canada.

The report is available online here.
