Workshop on Multimodal Terminals
14 October 2014
The European Citizens’ Mobility Forum (ECMF) will organise, on the 14 October 2014, in Brussels, a workshop dedicated to Multimodal Terminals which will bring together EU, national and local authorities, as well as civil society researchers and stakeholders, business representatives and trade associations to debate the role and place of passenger transport terminals in the intermodal transport chain.
Passenger transport terminals are one of the key components of the collective transport chain. In particular, truly multimodal terminals, fully accessible to buses and coaches, are crucial to offer European people a seamless collective passenger transport service able to successfully compete with the performance and flexibility of the private car, thus contributing to making the European multimodal sustainable mobility system a reality.
The objectives of the workshop are therefore to raise the issue of the importance of multimodal terminal infrastructure and to put a special emphasis on:
- better access for businesses to passenger transport terminals to improve the quality of services offered to customers
- best practices, funding and decision-making at all decision-levels
The workshop will take place at the Renaissance Hotel in Brussels on
Tuesday 14 October 2014 starting at 09:00
