Superbus

The University of Delft unveiled a 15 meters long bus prototype that can carry a 23 passengers and run up to 250 km/h.

Dubbed as the “future vision of Public Transport”, the vehicle presents significant advantages, such as:

  • Safety: due to obstacle detection systems (through radar equipment and a fast responding electronic guidance system), high maneuverability and formidable breaking power.
  • Flexibility : Superbus enjoys flexiblerouting, since routes are customised based on the preferred starts and destinations of the passengers. Running also on standard roads, it can fit seamlessly into the existing infrastructure.
  • Sustainability: electrically-powered, rechargeable batteries. Thanks to its lightweight and highly streamlined construction, Superbus also has low energy consumption.
  • User-friendliness: The bus has two different interior cabins, designed for people travelling alone or in groups.
  • Comfort: embarking onboard Superbus should be comparable to travelling with a luxurious sedan. This sensational experience will be realized through high speed, ergonomic interior design and personal multimedia equipment for each individual passenger.
