European Citizens Mobility Forum starts work to double the use of buses, coaches

The European Citizens Mobility Forum, composed of all key political and business stakeholders, today held its first formal meeting with a view to propose new concrete actions to double the use and market share of buses, coaches and taxis in the EU by 2025.

 

12 February 2014 - Created as one of the Smart Move High Level Group’s 16 recommendations submitted to European Commission Vice President, Siim Kallas, on 15 May 2013, the Forum will also ensure the follow-up and practical implementation of these recommendations.

 

As a first step, the Forum will propose an EU Action Programme, to be published by 2015, outlining how to create a stable institutional and incentive-based framework to reach its objectives.
