Electric bus fleets for Belgian cities

The cities of Namur and Charleroi in Belgium have together ordered 90 Volvo 7900 Electric Hybrid buses as well as 12 charging stations. Delivery and installation of 55 buses in Charleroi and 35 in Namur are planned for this autumn.

This is not the first order of the TEC Group that already runs 11 electric hybrid buses along with charging stations in Namur. After the new buses start operation, 90 per cent of Namur's public transport will be electrified.

The energy consumption for such a hybrid electric bus is about 60 per cent lower than for a corresponding diesel bus and it takes around 3-4 minutes for the batteries to recharge at the end of the bus route.
