Increasing safety in coaches: a German initiative

The German Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development recently launched the “Safety in Coaches” initiative to define quality criteria and provide orientation to coach operators and allow them to check their safety standards online.

The website provides safety checklists for bus passengers, and catalogues concerning safety, which bus and coach operators can use to check and document safety standards applied in their company. This will allow companies to gain an overview of what has been achieved in terms of safety, while it also provide some hints as to where there might be need for improvement in the company.
