BUS2BUS – political congress, exhibition, marketplace and Future Forum – maps opportunities for the bus and coach industry

 

 

BUS2BUS – the Berlin based trade fair for bus and coach – this year addresses key opportunities for Europe’s bus and coach industry, bringing together business, technology and policy in a unique forum to set the agenda for change. IRU will run two workshops at the Future Forum, focused on long distance coaches and coach tourism.

Coaches the greenest form of transport in France

 

The French Agency for Environment and Energy Management (ADEME) published on 23 March 2017 a study report whose conclusions recognise the environmental efficiency of coach transport.

Leading UK public transport provider commits to improving bus travel for blind and partially sighted people

 

Go-Ahead, one of the biggest public transport operators in UK, has signed up to RNIB’s (Royal National Institute of Blind People) Bus Charter to ensure services are accessible for passengers with sight loss.

Self-driving bus fleet to be operational in Dubai by 2019

 

An automated bus networking system will start running in Dubai by 2019. The 2.5 km-long driverless bus network will link Bluewaters Island to Dubai’s metro. The system will feature 25 automated vehicles being able to carry 24 passengers each.

Go Metro tool hopes to spur sustainable mobility solutions in South Africa

 

Public transport data for Cape Town has recently been made freely available in electronic form for use by developers and programmers by GoMetro. The availability of this type of data should help software developers to come up with innovative solutions like apps or platforms that would help improve mobility in Cape Town and other South African cities.
